Meditation
Many people still think that in order to meditate you need to be able to turn off your thoughts. I promise you, this is not the case. It's actually much simpler. Meditating means shifting your focus from external activity to your inner silence and observing yourself throughout the entire process. It's a time to just be. During your meditation practice, your racing mind and your body gradually settle down which allows you to experience a deep state of rest and relaxation until you slip into the space between your thoughts - the famous "gap". By regularly slipping into the space between your thoughts, you bring its qualities, such as silence and calmness, back into your everyday life. This way you learn that you don't need to look out and find silence in your external environment because it's already part of who you are. All you need to learn is how to re-connect with it.
The more we are able to relax and let go of our stressors, the more efficient our body and mind become. All we need to do is take the first step and carve out time to find a quiet place to sit and meditate.
